Code Help with moving files from one directory to another directory.

Hi all,

Please help me creating a job that runs on every monday.

And the job must have a script to move the files from directory1 to directory2 based on date.

eg: directory1 = usr/appl/src/archive; directory2 = usr/appl/failed
filename : PHDG_90021.txt

when the job runs,it must move all the files with date not equal to today's date to failed directory.
i.e: the files with older date(!=today's date) in archive directory should be moved to failed folder.

please let me know for any questions.

Thanks & Regards,
Vasanth

Touch a marker file elsewhere with the first second of today and do mv of found files:
Code:
touch $( date '+%m''%d0000' ) /tmp/marker.$$
mv $( find . . . ! -newer /tmparker.$$ -type f ) target_dir
rm /tmp/marker.$$

If you have a find with -newerXY you can specify the time directly without a marker file, deriving the date-time in essentially the same way. The '' between %m and %d is to keep it from being an SCCS metastring. A file last modified right at the second of midnight might get moved, so then you need yesteday at 235959 from a later version of date.
