In other words you have no hosts except your box defined here... so you must be using the DNS...

When you send you are trying to send mail via terminal, should we understand mail sending works in batch mode?
(Meaning Mail service is correctly configured...)

What OS and shell are we dealing with?

I am using Redhat 4.4 Operating system and shell is /bin/bash

What about mail configuration?
Is this working in batch mode?
Because if this is your first attempt to try to send a mail, its a bad start : We need to know how sendmail is configured

No software sending mail like alerts or anything?
Is this box within an enterprise, if yes is this the mail server?
If no what mail server do you have? ( Because This is the most important!)
