Mounting a Windows Network Drive on Solaris 10

Hi,

I have a Solaris 10 OS. I would like to map a network drive to a Windows machine. I have typed the following command

#mount 192.1.1.1:/content_dir /windows

192.1.1.1 - ip address of my windows box
content_dir - directory that I have shared out to others users on my windows box
/windows - is the mount point I created on my Solaris box

I get the following errors:
nfs mount: 192.168.1.102: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Unable to receive

Thanks in advance for your help

You should then have a NFS server software on your Windows PC. Otherwise, I am not sure you can do it.

It is not currently possible to mount a windows share directly on Solaris. CIFS (SMBFS) support is expected in an upcoming release.

Lightbulb

you could use sharity-light, alias rumba... never tried it with solaris10 but it worked good with 8 and 9. alternativ you could use windows services for unix, to let windows share nfs, the other way Smilie
