How to substitute for the partial match?

Hi I have a question and hope I can get answer here. Thank you in advance.
I have two files:
file1:
Code:
aa	X
bb	Y
cc	Z

file2:
Code:
cc	A
bb	B
dd	C
aa	D
bb	E

If the 1st column match in both file1 and file2, the 2nd column in file2 will be replaced by the 2nd column in file1. If there is no match for the first column, keep the row the same in file2, so the output file3 should be like this.
file3:
Code:
Z	A
Y	B
dd	C
X	D
Y	E

Try
Code:
awk 'NR==FNR{T[$1]=$2;next} $1 in T {print T[$1], $2; next} {print}' OFS="\t" file1 file2
Z    A
Y    B
dd    C
X    D
Y    E

Or, same idea:
Code:
awk 'NR==FNR{A[$1]=$2; next} $1 in A{$1=A[$1]}1' OFS='\t' file1 file2
