Calling Shell script Error
Hi All,

I need to call a script in another server(Say B).So I logged in my local Machine(say A)using putty and given these command

ssh root@hostname

cd home\oracle

sh script.sh.

This is working perfectly.But when I have those command in a shell script and placed in my local machine and run the script I am getting the following error.

Java null pointer exception error. Because when are running java files in the script.

Whether the error what i am getting is related to the script what I have written...Kindly help

From Oracle Docs:-

NullPointerException is thrown when an application attempts to use null in a case where an object is required. These include:
  • Calling the instance method of a null object.
  • Accessing or modifying the field of a null object.
  • Taking the length of null as if it were an array.
  • Accessing or modifying the slots of null as if it were an array.
  • Throwing null as if it were a Throwable value.
So it is difficult to tell what exactly is the problem without knowing anything about your java code. Check your java code to understand what is going on.

In the shell where you run the Java, run
Code:
env

to get the environment.
Then compare the working one with the non-working one...
