I've dealt with sudo in Linux that refused to operate if it had been hand-edited in that manner... Specifically complained it had been edited without using visudo. But then, my most frequent complaint about Linux, despite it being my favorite, is its distributors insistence on customizing standard things so heavily. My current one does not do that. So you're probably right Smilie

Not sure if I'm right or wrong... works for me but maybe that's a bug and not a feature!

Anyhow... each user should check his own system to insure it works however they edit it, of course.
