I have a huge directoy(200+ gb) for backup. I want upload the tar file(split files) simultaneous to a remote ftp. (pipeline, stdout, stdin etc.)
I don't want write a data to local hdd. I have a ssd hdd. thanks.

I'm using AIX v 5.3
I want to create system users to access through ftp or sftp and restrict those users into specific directory and don't traverse the whole file system just to be restricted within a directory and don't get shell access . i don't want to use any other third party... (7 Replies)

Do we have a kde is client or so ? I have exceed installed on my windows pc but i do not know how to get the same screen as the console of the server.

I am trying to setup an FTP server in a Fedora Core 3 machine through the command line interface and not KDE.
I think I am successful in getting the ftp service running, as when I do an ftp 127.0.0.1, I am able to log in using any one the user accounts I have created on this machine and browse... (8 Replies)

During the Solaris 10 installation, I answered "Yes" at the "Activate Remote Access" screen - or something like that. I know this is a security issue and I want it disabled now. How can I disable remote access ?

We access all our SPARC/x86 servers (Solaris 8,9 & 10) using ssh. I am looking for a open source tool that allows me to get the GUI on to my laptop. I tried with x-org and some other applications like Hummingbird. Encountered problems with license issues and CPU compatability of my laptop.
