You should have a .bash_profile or .bashrc file in your home directory...
execute it e.g. with .bash_profile:

I tried this one:

PS1=". ./.bash_profile"

But expected result not coming.

In your home dirctory...

My command ! Nothing more!
Dont invent new ones!!!!

And check what files you have before!

If you have a .bash_profile then you type exactly you I posted in #7 nothing more!
if its a .bashrc then replace the file name in the command line, here the command is .

OP, what's the big deal? It's just a prompt! Just set it to something nice. Next time, if you're going to change it, save a copy first Smilie

Or, f you really must, log in with another session and look at it from there.

To restate vbe's suggestion :

Try

source ~/.bash_profile 
Or
source ~/.bashrc

Depends on the file you have
