Whatabout powerterm provider then? they should be the first folk involved in the resolution since its a commercial product...
When I have displaying trouble, I try first between unixes, add linux, and if it is not there I contact the PC software support explaining what I tested... usually I get a solution in less than a week (attachmate, I use Rx stuff) between linux (debian) hp-ux solaris and AIX I find as common best terminal (for emulating) a standard VT100, I always get the same display except for linux that needs a little more in .profile ( because of default coloring...)

it is definitely powerterm. UTF-8 button is missing!
However, there should be a way to change the settings on linux. linux to linux works fine, no issues. but the iso latin-1 set is something i need to change on linux. i wonder if i should be asking this at linux.com.

bottomline, i do not know enough about linux to make the change. i think the locale is similar to unix. i also asked redhat.com support, and they say its 3rd party app. problem is, my boss is old skool and knows there is a way. he said find it. im trying...

But How do you expect to solve a windows application issue by modifying unix side? I definitely would ask Ericom for help! They must know a way or what is going on... Do like me : If I cant solve - I will go and look for another product ( when you have quite a few licences it motivates...)

Try a freeware like putty and see how far you get...
