Column Alignment

I copied a word file to my Unix directory, How do I line up my columns to the file I copied over?

can try with awk.
Read with possible delimeters set tab/space then finally write to file as per need.

Hi,

You could pipe the file through the col command. col -b has worked for me before.

hi,

when i pipe the col -b, it looks like nothing different. could u provide a simple example?

file content:
FIELD COUNT
------ -------
ABC 123
ABC_1 133
ABC_4 30

cat {filename} |grep ABC |col -b

output:
ABC 123
ABC_1 133
ABC_4 30
