Bug Zip Error : Nothing to do !(<ZipName>)

Hi Guys,

I faced this Error in my Unix System while i trying to zip a File

Code:
"zip error: Nothing to do! (<ZipName>)"

Why such thing happen in the Unix, whats the reason behind it . Please let me know !!!

The error (I'd say more of a message, really) appears to be quite self-explanatory.

What was the command that you ran?

It doesn't seem like a very "advanced Unix" question, so I've moved the thread.

i used the below command to zip the file,
Code:
/usr/bin/zip -q -19 -j <Name of New Zip file>  <Source File>

i think you have failed to give the zipname in the zip command

pls try using this command : zip file.zip sourcedirectory/filename
