Gotta find'em first

Hello-

THis should be relatively simple, but it's more of a pain than a pc, mostly because the only unix I know of that scans devices for inserted media (by default anyway) is IRIX. It polls with mediad, unfortunately, it also screws up tape drives by doing this.
First, what's the drive's SCSI ID? Normally these are 6, standard for the CDROMs pretty much, in this case, you really just need to mount the correct type of fs that is on the device.
"mount -F ufs (may not be this) -o ro /dev/dsk/c1t6d0s0", now that assumes that the fs on the disc is ufs, it may be ElTorrito, or High Sierra, or 9660, or something else, look at the man page for mount to find out where the recognized file systems are in your system.
Now, I think that should be all you need, but if you just plugged in the drive to the running system, and you're sitting there, without a reboot, you may have to either reboot, or look at the "devlinks" and disks" commands. Now, if I remember right, if you run "format" and there is a disc in the cdrom, it will show up in format and allow you to determine what id and such the cdrom is on, but I'm thinking back a ways on that...
