Very new newbie question

sorry if im not asking inthe right spot but, how do you turn the beeping off every time you hit a key onthe keyboard. I tried the click -n but it told me it didnt recognize click

any help would be greatly appreciated ( the beeping is not going over well in the surrounding cubicles)

thanks ppierald but when i typed that it says "unable to open dispay"

tried xset b off
xset -b
xset -c off
xset -c

same error message everytime

unfortunatley i do not know what version since i dont use unix very much at all. it says something about AIX ver 5 ( i think) if that help's any?
