Secondary DNS question

I have the primary set up, but cannot get the secondary box to answer a query. Here is the message I get:
Code:
> nslookup dfwnet1 10.26.38.41
*** Can't find server name for address 10.26.38.41: Non-existent host/domain
*** Default servers are not available

10.26.38.41 is the IP of the secondary box. It appears that it cannot resolve it's own hostname. When I do an update on the primary (using h2n), the contents of /var/named get updated. Any help would be appreciated.

If a box cannot resolve something it must have a broken resolver. I would start by checking /etc/resolv.conf.

Maybe I wasn't clear. Actually it can resolve hostnames, but not cannot perform lookups for other hosts

Code:
sun038041:/home/chuckb > nslookup host1
Server: sun038040
Address: 10.26.38.40

Name: host1
Address: 10.26.30.11

sun038041:/home/chuckb > nslookup host1 10.26.38.41
*** Can't find server name for address 10.26.38.41: Non-existent host/domain
*** Default servers are not available
sun038041:/home/chuckb >

There is a problem with the nameserver 10.26.38.41.

Type:

>nslookup

Then at the prompt, type:

>server 10.26.38.41

(you should get an error, based on your post)

then at the nslookup prompt type:

>host1

(you should get the .... 41 server above)

Then try:

>10.26.38.41

(I assume you get an error).

If you do, you have to fix the PTR record for 10.26.38.41
