Values with common field in same line with awk
Hi all !

I almost did it but got a small problem.

input:
Code:
cars    red
cars    blue
cars    green
truck    black

Wanted:
Code:
cars    red-blue-green
truck    black

Attempt:
Code:
gawk 'BEGIN{FS="\t"}{a[$1] = a[$1] (a[$1]?"-":"")$2; $2=a[$1]; print $1 FS $2}' input

But I also got the intermediate records (and it doesn't work properly neither with an END section):
Code:
cars    red
cars    red-blue
cars    red-blue-green
truck    black

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm only problem is order Smilie
