Send mail from UNIX
Hi,

I am executing the below commands, i didnt get any error and send mail not recevied by respective user. Please help

Code:
 cat a.txt | mailx -s "config" xxx@abc.com

Few point...
Have you sent mails before from thsi server?
Are necessary ports open on the server to send email?
sendmail.cfg file has necessary details in it?

your command should work !

try this !!!
Code:
cat a.txt | mail -s "config" xxx@abc.com

or mail -s "config" xxx@abc.com < cat a.txt

Hi,

this is the first time , I am trying to send the mail from that server.
sendmail.cfg is availbale , what are all the thing need to check in that ???

Hello,

Do try to open port 25 in your firewall. Issue netstat command to verify connection.
