scp uses -P upper case, ssh -p lower case to specify the port

just to confuse users I guess Smilie

funksen,

I use your command -p or -P ( not effect)

sshd is listening on port 9096 in your case

your error message says:

Quote:
ssh: connect to host 172.16.x.x port 22: Connection refused
you see scp is trying to connect to port 22 because of your wrong syntax

it's not just the -p, I would also say the order of your arguments and options is wrong

try:

Code:
scp -P 9060 ganteng.txt amin@172.16.x.x:/root

I'm not quite sure why you're hiding part of a private IP address, but... Smilie

User amin does not have access to root's "home" directory, so why are you trying to copy the file there?

scp the file as the root user, or put the file somewhere amin has permission to write to.

Also, there's nothing specifically AIX-related here, so I have moved this thread from the AIX forum.
