UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

I've a very trivial thing bothering me. I'm rather new in scripting so I'll keep asking stupid questions.
Here is small script that does backup of mails.

do
echo $i
maildir=`echo $i|sed 's@^./usr/@@'`
for j in $i/*

[ -d "$j/backup" ] && {
st="`find $j/backup -name "[0-9]*" -type f -print|head -1|wc -l`"
.....
It searches for mails in backup folder of all the users. Once in a while a user will use capital letters ('BACKUP' or 'Backup') in the name. How do I make sure that all sorts of such names must be included in my backup thingy?

The "-iname" flag to find will do a case-insensitve match. (see find man page). So something like:

	for j in `find . -iname backup -type d`
	do 
	  st="`find $j -name "[0-9]*" -type f -print|head -1|wc -l`"
  	  #other processing as necessary
	  cd /
	done
done

Thanx for a great suggestion! One prob, I've got Digi UNIX 4.0. There is no "iname" thingy. Went thru man page and didn't see anything on "case-sensitive" search.
I guess I'll do this:
find . -name [B-b][A-a].... -type d

What about :
find . -type d -print | grep -i "backup"*
Or something simialr to your needs.
The "-i" flag to grep make the search not case sensitive (this should work on all Unices - let me know if it doesn't).
