Help with RAID setup...

Hi All,

Quick question on the RAID. I have a Dell server with 27 hard drives. Two hard ware controller cards. Boot disks will be mirrored. That leaves us with 25 disks. I need to configure that as Raid 5. On the Boot disk, already installed RHEL 6. How do I make the 25 disks as RAID 5?

Please help.

With hardware RAID controllers you set up new arrays by using the onboard firmware, not the Linux O/S.

If you have two RAID cards how many drives are connected to each?

If depends on whether you can connect 25 drives to one of the cards and whether the card firmware supports 25 drives in a single array.

What RAID cards (make/model) are they exactly?

Never used RAID card on the Linux side before. I am only starting to learn about it. The card is LSI/3Ware card. Not sure how many drives are connected to each card, I don't know how to find that. I may have to call tech support.
