Dual boot Red Hat and 2000

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a dual boot with Win2000 and Red Hat. I installed Win 2000 first a partitioned 2 separate drives. When I start the Red Hat install with Disk Druid, it sees my partitioned drives, but won't let me install Red Hat. What is my issue?

you have to manually add the RH partitions when dual booting with redhat

you might want to create

a swap partition (2x the ram u have so if u have 64 mbs this partition should be 128 mbs)
and a 20 mb boot partition

and the rest of the space should go to a / (root) partition, some might argue you may need more, search the web make ur decision

umm in RH 7.0+ (as far as i know) you need to select "custom installation" and then it'll let you partition it on your own.

good luck.

Bug

Im running Dual boot too, using Win2000 and RedHat7.1. i Suggest you create the partition in Win2000 using Partition Magic. It quite Simple and easy to use. It also Suggest to you the Sawp partition and the boot partition to use by checking your HDD size and status automatically.
That software can be bought Commercially (suggested), it also have an option Boot magic for you to boot into win2k or linux, or you can install Lilo</B when you install linux later.

Try it. trust me It really works.
