You could try these:

This should delete all the patterns starting with '[5]' until the next pattern:

sed 's/\[5\][^;][^;]*;//g' file

This should delete all the patterns starting with '[5]' and everything after it until the end of the line:
Code:
sed 's/\[5\].*//g' file
