best frontend for iptables?
Hi,

I'm dealing with iptables on Linux, and even if I personally like text configuration, I believe in the case of a firewall would be nice to have a graphical tool.
I've cheked several frontends like Vuurmuur and UIF, but I wanted to know your opinion on the subject.

Firestarter is one of the more simpler gui frontends.

PF is the best
Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but my favorite frontend for iptables is OpenBSD's packet filter (as in, there's an OBSD box in front of all my linux machines Smilie ). If you're building a box that's purely going to be a firewall, you seriously might want to look into OpenBSD, as its rules are about 1000 times more readable than iptables. Take a look at the PF user's guide <http://www.openbsd.org/faq/pf/index.html>.

yes, it's gonna be only a firewall, maybe vpn server, but someone suggested me to do those things in different boxes..

thanks, I'll check openBSD, I heard it's great in security issues.
