Could not reverse map address
Hello,
I am tring to connect with putty for pocket pc to my server with ssh ver2 but i am rejecting with the password.
on the logs /var/log/secure i get the error: Could not reverse map address
I am tring to connect from lan behind a router to a lan behind a router.
I have set the option "VerifyReverseMapping" to no and to yes under /etc/ssh/sshd_config file
does anybody have a clue ?
It is not seems to be a dns problem since i manage to brows the net and manage to get to the login prompt with the host and with the ip address of the server

I think it's a dns problem. Remember that a dns server resolves in two ways, from IP to NAME ; and from NAME to IP, being the first the "reverse map".
So it's like you could resolve from NAME to IP but not reverse.

You should check your dns config and ask the dns server admin if it do revers lookup.

Hope it helps.

Also you can try adding IP-NAME lines in host file.
