printing array elements

Is there a way to print multiple array elements without iterating through the array using bash?

Can you do something like...

Code:
echo ${array[1 2 3 4 5]}

and get all those separate elements from the array?

This is another one of those questions where I'm left wondering if an array is what's really needed here.

I don't know of a way to specify multiple indexes in bash, but if you put them into parameters, you can just use $1 $2 $3 etc.

Code:
set -- "${array[@]}"

echo $1 $2 $3 $4 $5

bash allows ${arr[@]:start:len}

example:

Code:
[mute@geek ~]$ arr=(one two three four five six)
[mute@geek ~]$ printf '[[%s]]\n' "${arr[@]:1:3}"
[[two]]
[[three]]
[[four]]
