Regarding the logs on putty

Hi Folks,
I have an application and I connect to unix box through putty , sometimes I Have to check the logs and for that I reached to particular directory and write

Code:
tail -f abc.log

Is there any better command so that these logs are dynamically go on increasing while I work on my application so please suggest any better command to observe the logsSmilie

In what way does 'tail -f' not do what you want? Perhaps 'tail -f | less' so you can pageup-pagedown to hunt through, q to quit?

Hi Folks,

Sorry I aplogise, i was using tail command to cross check the logs as the logs get dynamicaaly updated after each second , but please advise is there any other better command that unix offers that will be a great help..! I want to see the logs complete ..!!

Don't do something then "sorry" after, don't do it.

What do you mean by 'see the logs complete'? How large are these logs? At an entry per second they could easily become too large to scroll through.

Hi Corona,

Yeah the logs grow as I perform some events on my application , I have two open two different instances of putty and then need to track them as The logs are in different directory , I was thinking of using multitail command , please advise how does it work ..I have logs created in two different directories one in /var/log/abc.log and another in /usr/log/bvf.log Please advise how can I track both the logs through single putty only will multitail help me..!!
