problem in dual boot
i want to know how do i make my system a dual boot system for Linux 7.1 and Windows Nt 4.0 Smilie Smilie Smilie

use LILO (boot manager for linux) or a good pretty good software

I'm guessing by 7.1, you mean Redhat 7.1. Regardless, if the drive is currently empty, partition it before you do anything else. Then install NT first, Redhat second, and LILO should be configured when you reboot.

If you already have NT installed (which I'm guessing is your case), find a partitioning tool, probably Partition Magic, and partition your drive. Then install RH 7.1 and once again, LILO should be configured, or it is easily configurable once in Redhat.

Your other option is to install 7.1 on another drive altogether. Then just configure LILO from Linux to boot to either drive. Keep in mind there are also other boot managers (ie. Loadlin, Grub, etc..) BUT, my suggestion is to definately have NT installed FIRST. Otherwise, you may be reinstalling it later... I know this from experience after a botched attempt on Mandrake's part to correctly partition my drive.
