Sed command help
Hello,

Im a newbie, and I have a file that contains simple list of numbers...

ex:
Code:
5165551234
6315551234

Im trying to figure out a string sed type command, that will take the numbers, and change the format to this....

Code:
homeDnModify "516555" "1234" "" 2
homeDnModify "631555" "1234" "" 2

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

is having sed a requirement ?
here is one way using shell built in:

do 
   printf "homeDnModify \"${line:0:5}\" \"${line:6:10}\" \"\" 2\n"
done < infile
