There's an ongoing debate over whether Apple computers count as x86 these days. They use x86 processors but are profoundly not standard PC's, very different firmware and the like. Nonetheless people have managed to bludgeon OSX into booting on standard PC's, and Windows to boot on mac's. It's simply difficult...
