Are you able to read a tape?
What is the output of:
#tape status

Has the value for $TapeDrive changed?
Can you retention the tape using:
#tape reten

I've just looked again at your original post and the command being used.

Where did this command come from? Is it in a script or are you running it by hand?

What is the backup supposed to do???? Backup the whole machine?

This is not the kind of command structure I would use on SCO.

Perhaps this is the cause of this problem.

I had assumed that this had been working but your backups had gotten bigger and hit the end of the media. Perhaps not.

Was the backup running okay previously, before this error? Or would you like me to specify a backup command for SCO?
