UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi! This is my first forum post

I had to remove a big file (around 1TB filesize) in a remote RHEL5 server trought SSH. I launched a rm -rf <filename> but then I lost my terminal session.
When I reconnected to the server the process was subsequently killed, the file wasnt there, but cheking disk free space nothing has changed. When I do a ls -a I can't see the file.
How can I locate it and release the used space by the file?

Are you sure the process has been killed? Verify with ps -ef.
