pine email tool suppress prompt to save read messages

Could somebody please advise about how to configure pine/alpine so that on exit it doesn't prompt me to save read messages? Thanks

If you remove the 'read-messages-folder' setting in the configuration, that should stop the prompt as it will have no destination and thus cannot prompt to move them. You can make this change via the setup interface. Go to Setup/Configure and delete the setting for "Read Messages Folder" (about 10 lines down from the top).

You'll be prompted with a "do you really want to quit" confirmation unless you unset that too. It's later in the setup/config section.

Glad I'm not the only Pine/Alpine user out there!

Thanks very much for the quick response. You're definitely not the only pine user out there!

I commented out the line
read-messages-folder=
but it didn't help

I've attached my entire .pinerc file in case you can see something else in it that's causing the problem.

That's the only thing that I know of that would cause the prompt. I just tested again and when that is set I get a prompt with the directory name when I exit, and when it is not set I don't.

For what it's worth, the version of Alpine that I have installed is 2.0. I noticed from your .rc file you look to still be running the old version of pine, rather than Alpine. Maybe that's the issue. Unfortunately I don't have the old version installed anywhere to try.

Sorry I'm not more help here.
