Once your crontab file is created, in your home if you just wish to add extra schedule (removing or modifying existing is out of question here...), your script has just to append new (correct syntax...) line and reload the file e.g:

echo "55 14 * * *  /home/vbe/test_cron_cmd > /home/vbe/cron.log 2>/home/vbe/cron.err" >>crontab.vbe
crontab crontab.vbe

You're done...
