invoking script
hi all,

is there a way to run a script upon invoking an application . for eg if i click on mozilla i want a script to run , before runniing mozilla , maybe ask a password or something only then open mozilla

You can write what is called a wrapper script
1. create an alias for mozilla in .bashrc or your profile:

alias mozilla='/path/to/myscript.sh'

This covers you for executing mozilla from inside a script or a command line
2. Make sure the desktop uses that alias or script name also.
3. Write a script:

#!/bin/bash
# this is /path/to/myscript.sh
# do stuff you want here:

# now run the real mozilla here:
/path/to/the/real/mozilla [options]

what do u mean by desktop, can you please explain in detail i m new to unix
