Unfortunatley, I can not use wget on our systems....
I am looking for another way for a UNIX script to test web pages and let me know if they are up or down for some of our application.
Has anyone saw this before?

Hi guys
On FC9 we are running squid-3.0.STABLE2-2.fc9.i386
HTTP traffic works fine, no problems there.
When I try to access a secure site, IE, Chrome and Firefox says the page cannot be loaded.
I do not see any log entries in the squid access log or the servers messages file.

I have Squid set up, but when my friend wants to use it, he has to enter my IP and port in his browser settings every time. my company is considering a new development of our web site, which used to run on Apachi over Solaris.
The company who is going to do this for us knows only about developing it in ASP.
