can you do :

Code:
#ls -ld ABC

it will show you the ownership of ABC itself...

Also you can try to relogin as superuser "root" and retry to remove the files ...

sry for the late response.
the parent had permissions
I found the problem. One of ABC's sub directory did not have a write permission and almost all of the files were under that.Smilie
