I need to write a regular expression for todays date in format 12/11/11? any help will be greatful thanks.

Do you want to match the today date only or you want to validate any valid date?

The following will match MM/DD/YY:
Code:
(0[1-9]|1[0-2])\/(0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])\/[0-9][0-9]

A bit more generalised. The below will match MM/DD/YY with any delimiter in between (or even with no delimiter!)
Code:
(0[1-9]|1[0-2]).?(0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01]).?[0-9][0-9]

The above will not check for leap year though. And if you provide a date 02/31/2012 (Feb 31, 2012), it would still match. You may have to include separate conditions for that.
