Welcome to the forums... however, please take a look at this guide.

Your question is too vague to be answered fully. What do you mean by "support XML"? You can fire up vi or emacs and create/edit XML files, yes. You can find XML editors and browsers for *nix too. You'll also find applications that use XML configuration files, etc. Apache can serve XML based solutions too (Axis is an implementation of SOAP for example)....

In order to answer your question better we need a lot more information.
