UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi friends,

today i created a cron job , registered the crontab file associated but dont know why the cron is not getting executed at the right time.??

content of Crontab file :

21 15 * * * /subrat/myt

i wanted to execute the script myt on 15:21 PM of everyday.

the script myt contained:


#!/bin/sh




echo "subrat"
......................................

thats it.

I first registered the creontab file as

crontab ct1

and then i waited for the cron to run on specified time but it didnt ran.

Am i doing some thing wrong?
please help..

content of Crontab file are only:

21 15 * * * /subrat/myt

CRON is for batch processing, launched by init it ignore everything about tty, char mappings etc... How will echo something then when no display is there?
You are to redirect all output to a file...

I found the problem.

I tried that also... i redirected the output to another file..

But actually the output file was created at directly root directory "/"
