Help with Password Change

When I am trying to change the password of my account. I could see the following error:

passwd: Changing password for ramu
Enter existing login password:
passwd: Sorry: less than 14 days since the last change.
Permission denied

Is anybody out there who can help me in changing my password?

Not really, I have changed it couple of times before with a command called 'passwd'.

How often can I change my password. Do I have any certain time limit for changing the pwd?

Yes you can change it but here it is a security policy in place that is giving you hard time, you are stuck with a time between two change policy (14 days delay...)

I woud ask a admin, if you don't have root access, to change your password. A root user can change the password at anytime. You could lock yourself out of the account and say you don't remember your password and they will reset your account and allow you to change your password.
