Help with ls command

Hello all,
I have a question. I need to get some information on files in a directory and all sub directories. I need the following information on every file.
Name
Path
Size in bytes
File Type

I have managed to get the first three but cant find out how to get file type.

Any ideas?

Thanks
-Lars

To check file type you can use file utility.

@bartus11
I think he wants to display File Name , Full Path , Size In Byte , and File Type in one output by one command .
I don't think that traditional ls command can do it by itself it needs to combined with file command and some other commands like xargs , cut , awk and so on but the combination would result in a lenghty command as I guess.
I believe GNU version of ls provide such functionality in one command in an easy way.
Otherwise we need to write some snippet to do it by combinning some UNIX commands.

Yes that is exactly what I need. I am very inexperienced in command line and only know the basics so this will be very tough for me to do.

Thanks

OK, so can you provide the code that you use to get the first three points? Then we can adjust it to print also file's type.

So for some reason I cant remember how I was getting just the file name but I have managed to get File path and size with the following:

Code:
find . -exec ls -dl \{\} \; | awk '{print $5, $9, $10, $11}'

The additional $10, $11 are to get the full file path in the sub directories.

Thanks
