Well, the two free shell accounts that I have used in the past are both non-operable right now, but here they are anyways:
sdf.lonestar.org
nether.net
Try searching www.google.com for "free shell account"...

Wait! Try this:
telnet://209.221.165.117

It's freeshell.org's ( aka sdf.lonestar.org ) new server...
Make a free account, and you can get yourname.lonestar.org for youe webspace... 20 meg free room too....

Have fun, and good luck!

Well, if you have copies of your HTML and .class files, you can upload them via ftp to that site. You log in with the same username:passwd as telnet, and place them in the (I think) 'html' directory. After that, you will need to play with chmod, and you can get your files in order how you want them!

This may be a bit out there, but at one point and time I ran some chmods via a FTP client. I forget what the client name was, but I used this to chmod some flat files for a cgi script.

I wish I could toss you some more information, but the machine that client was loaded on is long gone, but I got the FTP app from shareware.com (that I remember).

Good luck,
Xiix
