Joining two files

I have two comma separated files.
I want to join those filesa nd put the result in separate file.
smaple data are:

file1:

Code:
A1,1,100
A2,1,200
B1,2,100
B2,2,200

file2

Code:
1,50
1,25
1,25
1,100
1,100
2,50
2,50
2,150
2,50

The resultant file should contains:
Code:
A1,1,50
A1,1,25
A1,1,25
A2,1,100
A2,1,100
B1,2,50
B1,2,50
B2,2,150
B2,2,50

The key for joining is:
2nd field in file1 and 1st field in file2.

The logic behind this is:

In file1, the A1 value is 100

in the result sum(all the A1 values)=50+25+25=100

The order in which the distribution happens in file2 doesnt matter.
There may be other results also possible.
The result may be.:
Code:
A1,1,100
A2,1,50
A2,1,25
A2,1,25
A2,1,100
B1,2,50
B1,2,50
B2,2,150
B2,2,50

However the sum should be equal.
In this case also the sum(A1) in result = sum(A1) in file1.

Please help me in this.

Thanks

in File1, the second column is key.
In file2,the first column is key.

We need to match based on those columns.
In my example both files have 1,2 in common.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks

MySQL AWK

Hi,

just try this,

Code:
nawk 'BEGIN{FS=",";}{t=0;while(getline line<"File2"){split(line,a,",");if ( $2 == a[1] ){print $1,$2,a[2];t=t+a[2];if ( t == $3 ){break;}}}}' File1 >File3

Where File1 and File2 are your input files and File3 is your output file.

Cheers,
RangaSmilie

But, for example if my data is
Code:
"A11635 ","1974-07-17 00:00:00","20311905"

Code:
awk '{print $3}' filename

returns

Code:
00:00:00","20311905"

but i am expecting 20311905 alone.

What i am performing wrongly?

Thanks

Mentioning the FS resolves the issue.
Thanks

You didn't set the input field separator (FS).
Try:

Code:
awk -F, ...
