Is there picture based game under linux terminal?
Is there picture based game under linux terminal? Just like Supermario under DOS.

I know MAME. It just an amulator. I mean native game on linux terminal with picture not text.

There was never a Super Mario for DOS, either. Whatever you're remembering, that had to be emulated.

And if you're asking for graphics to happen inside a terminal, that'd need magic. Terminal is terminal, graphical is graphical. Graphical things would have to open a window if you ran them in a terminal.

I suspect there's a language barrier though, and we're just not grasping what you're asking for.

I've seen a few simple and ugly (ugly in the sense of being blocky and pixel-based) games written for ncurses.

(Could ncurses be considered a terminal?)

It resembled to the old Pitfall for Atari, I just can't remember its name though.

PS: When I first read the title of the thread I thought it was refering to some sort of Jigsaw puzzle.

There are a few based on SVGAlib, but none of them is really current (most around the turn of the century or earlier).

I mean graphics inside terminal. Maybe it will be better to understand if I call it pixel based game.
