Can You Please let Know How use unix uniq command on a single column for deleting records from file

with Below Structure.Pipe Delimter File .

Source

Name | Account_Id
A | 101
B | 201
C | 301
A | 102
D | 401
C | 301

Based On The Name Column I Want To Delete Record

Target
Name Account_Id
A | 101
B | 201
C | 301
D | 401

You can't. But with sort you can:

(head -n1 INPUTFILE; tail -n+2 INPUTFILE | sort -k1,1 -k2,2 -u ) >OUTPUTFILE

PS I was wrong. You can if you know exactly width of your first field.
