*nix newb needs books

I am a total newbie to *nix systems. I can already see however that this is an important o/s and i must learn to use it. I also am aware that the information on how to use linux/unix is out there but it all relies on my knowing alot more about ths "nix's" then i do. What i'm asking, inshort, is what should i read? Where should i start? Are there groups out there that can help me or should i just quit now?

Also; a search for "UNIX Tutorial" "Linux Tutorial", etc, at www.google.com will yield more results than you can shake a stick at!

Check out www.tldp.org for Linux specific FAQ's, HOWTO's and Documentation.

Cheers
