echo and redirection

I am trying to write a simple script which prints some output, but also saves the same in a logfile.


Code:
echo hello
echo hello >> logfile

Is there anyway i Can write single sentence of code and get the same result:
( i am using CSH )

echo hello | tee -a logfile

Use the tee(1) program as suggested by yazu and put everything inside curly brackets if you have many commands:

Code:
{

echo hello
echo how are you?
echo i am fine

} | tee -a logfile.log

this will save you from writing redundant redirections to the same file in every command.

With that logic this echoes "echo". Question about echo!

echo `echo ` doesn't echoes anything. And it's logic. But echo `echo `echo ` ` does echoes "echo". What's the logic of it? the `echo `echo ` inside of the whole (first) echo, echoes nothing, so the first echo have to echo nothing but echoes "echo" (too much echoing :P):o (2 Replies)
