output with ' in awk

awk 'FNR==NR {a[FNR]=$1$2;next} {print a[FNR],$1$2$3$4$5$6$7$8$9$10$11$12}'  cdobj3043.norm model_11500.tab > real_model_11500.tab

Use FS instead of " " for a space in this case.

I usually use :

 awk '{gsub(/xxx/,"yyy");print}'

to substitute xxx with yyy.

I have a problem substitute an expression like

 x ' y

Because of the ( ' )

Any idea on how to get over this problem?

That prints out the ' but it doesn't substitute it with something else. I started a new thread about that because you might have gotten confused about my questions because of the title of this tread... Smilie

Same awk gives different output:
