Accessing my windows Application on Ubuntu

I am sure this is simple to do but as a newbie to UNIX i don't know much.
I have Ubuntu installed on my machine alongside windows 7.
How do i access all the folders, files and more importantly programs and softwares installed on Windows so i can use them in Ubuntu instead of going back and forth b/w windows and Ubuntu.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

None of the Windows apps will run under ubuntu. You will have to install wine on the ubuntu side.
WineHQ - Run Windows applications on Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OS X

ubuntu can mount your FAT32 and NTFS drives, example for NTFS:
HOWTO: NTFS with read/write support using ntfs-3g (easy method) - Ubuntu Forums
