Well, you have not told us what shell or language you want the answer in so I get to choose ksh93
Code:
$ printf "%(%m%d%y)T\n" "current week monday"
031411
$ printf "%(%m%d%y)T\n" "current week tuesday"
031511
$

If you want the answer for a particular compiled or scripting language, you need to tell us in advance so we can supply an appropriate answer.

The answer was in UNIX. Give us:

The flavor of UNIX you are running - like:Linux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris
The shell you use: bash, ksh, tcsh, csh, etc

I had a little extra time to play:
Code:
#!/bin/ksh
typeset -i mYear mMonth mDay
typeset -i mYear2 mMonth2
typeset -i mDaysWeek
set -A mNameDays N/A Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
clear
echo ""
echo "Based on a date (YMD) and a day of the week,"
echo "this script will display the equivalent date (YMD)"
echo "for the entered day of the week."
echo "Examples:"
echo "1) Date: 2010-12-31 and Saturday"
echo " The output will be: 2011-01-01"
echo "2) Date: 2011-04-01 and Tuesday"
echo " The output will be: 2011-03-29"

Another approach to print the monday of the current week:
Code:
cal |
awk -v d="$(date +"%m %d %y")" 'BEGIN{split(d,a)} $0 ~ int(a[2]) {print a[1] $2 a[3]}'

For the tuesday you can replace $2 with $3 etc.
