Need a bit of help is compiling a code, the makefile for which was originally designed to work on a 32-bit Linux platform, for a 64-bit Linux platform.
My platform is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-bit. I am trying to compile a code called csim, file name csim-1.1.tar.gz. To compile this code you need to first set up Matlab's mex utility first, and I already have that.
When you un-tar the code into a directory called, there are two Makefiles one in lsm/csim which calls another Makefile in lsm/csim/src. lsm/csim/src also contains the csim_mex72_opt.sh file for the compile and linker options that the Makefile should use. The two Makefiles have been pasted at the bottom of this email.
Now the problem that I am facing is that when I run "make -f Makefile" from lsm/csim/ I get the error:

When I change the name of the file to ./csim_mexopts.sh instead (add the ./ to indicate current directory the thing starts to work. But I don't get why this change should be needed.
Then a similar thing happens every time I run a "make clean" followed by "make". This time it is unable to find the file ../../developreggen/bin/reggen. The terminal output is:

I tried changing reggen to ./reggen and also to ../../develop to the absolute path. I have checked that reggen does exist and has the correct permissions:

So as you can see, the file is there. Why is make not able to find it?
